Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the incumbent is responsible to provide support to the Chief Financial Officer and President & CEO for financial information and analysis. Consolidate global financial statements and financial reporting ensuring compliance with ASPE, IFRS and SOX requirements for all Meridian Lightweight Technologies entities.

EDUCATION AND PERSONAL COMPETENCIES

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of related experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the Financial Group Audit including internal control compliance
  • Liaise with Meridian external auditors and Revenue Canada.
  • Liaise with Tax Authorities regarding Goods and Services Tax, Provincial Retail Sales Tax, International Value Added Tax, Corporate Income Return Filings and SRED
  • Responsible for all tax compliance matters including regulatory filings, transfer pricing and strategic input to minimize tax exposure
  • Provides management with accurate and timely information to make strategic, investment and operating decisions.
  • Liaise with Banks and Financial Institutions with respect to cash, credit, and debt management.
  • Assists CFO to design, organize, direct & coordinate Foreign Exchange Policy, Exposure & Hedging and Cash Management Policy & Administration
  • Ensures all established policies, rules, regulations, and agreements are followed.
  • Support and mentor the local finance teams including implementing best practices and standardization
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
