Required: Knowledge of GAAP requirements. High proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel and Word. Proven ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to sit or stand for long periods on occasion and carry objects up to 10 pounds. Ability to work at a desk with frequent use of keyboard and monitor. EDUCATION

Required: Associate’s degree accounting, or five years of directly comparable experience in lieu of a degree.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas A&M University.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

  • High degree of accuracy regarding numerical data and its communication.
  • Prepare financial reports and statements.
  • Meet deadlines.
  • Confidentiality.

ROUTINE DUTIES

  • Review and reconcile daily cash receipts to bank deposits.
  • Review and reconcile cash receipts to gift entry, and post gift entries to the GL.
  • Assist in preparing and entering journal entries to record transactions.
  • Prepare summaries, reports and recommendations when necessary.
  • Assist in preparing and reconciling general ledge accounts.
  • Assist in conducting the timely month-end closing.
  • Research, collect, compile, and analyze information from various sources on a variety of specialized accounting topics.
  • Prepare and distribute in a timely fashion various ad-hoc accounting-related reports.
  • Prepare, review and distribute quarterly fund statements.
  • Prepare annual reports as required by various regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new or revised accounting programs, systems, procedures, and methods of operation.
  • Assist in preparation of internal or external audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.
