Description:
Sunterra Retail office team members work day- to-day to support the busy operations in our stores. The Accounting Team is involved in many parts of the business including full cycle accounting, reconciliations, customer service and loyalty programs.
Professionalism, the ability to multi-task, strong teamwork skills and passion for food and service are requirements!
Duties and Responsibilities:
Scope of Responsibility include but are not limited to:
- Accounts Payable
o Aging reports analysis and reconciliations alongside AP team
o Follow up on weekly, monthly and quarterly routines with the team to support reporting timelines and initiatives.
- Accounts Receivable and Sales
o Aging reports analysis and strategy development alongside AR team
o Support training and development for AR team members as needed
o Follow up on weekly, monthly and quarterly routines with the team to support reporting timelines and initiatives.
o Review Sales posting (through AR) against source systems (Caterease, SMS) for accuracy
o Expected rebate posting, review, reconciliation, and reporting
o Uber Sales reporting
- Inventory
o Review, posting and reconciliation of monthly inventory submissions from Operations teams
o Reminders to and follow-up with Operations teams on deadlines
o Inventory valuation provided to Group Finance at Month end.
o Creation of Quarterly Grocery Count Sheets for Operations Teams
o Development of Prepared Item Count sheets for Operations teams.
o Booking and coordination with RGIS for Semi annual inventory counts
- Fixed Assets
o Fixed Asset accounting and reconciliation
- General Ledger Reconciliation
o Review GL for errors/anomalies
o Reconcile and clear Suspense accounts
o Monitor and complete monthly merge of GL entries
- Other
o Fraud monitoring
o Support Annual Audit with KPMG
o Support training and development for team members as needed
o Various other duties and growth into additional Accounting and Finance responsibilities may be determined, understanding that Sunterra operates in a very strong team-based atmosphere
o Required availability: Monday-Friday 8:00am–5:00pm
o Available to start as soon as possible
Qualifications:
Skills
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Reporting, analysis, and reconciliation experience
- Ability to process and analyse large amounts of numerical data
- Professional and approachable, positive and outgoing
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, Office 365)
- Excellent communication skills
- Willingness to work as a part of a team, across a variety of initiatives
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Post Secondary education and/or relevant accounting experience are required
- Experience working in the Retail sector will be an asset
- Team supervision experience will be an asset
