POSITION OVERVIEW

The Accounting Coordinator is a part of the finance team vital in ensuring accurate cost analysis, tracking of production data, and managing accounts payable processes. This role will have strong Excel skills and experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyzes and monitors manufacturing costs, labor, materials, and overhead
  • Prepares and reviews production reports and variances
  • Supports month-end close activities related to inventory
  • Reconciles and processes vendor invoices, credits, and payments in a timely manner
  • Assists in maintaining accurate inventory records and performs periodic physical inventory counts
  • Develops and maintains standard costing systems
  • Generates detailed reports using Excel and ERP systems
  • Provides cost analysis support to operations and management teams
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and accounting standards

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Minimum Experience Required

  • Two (2) years of experience in cost accounting

License(s) and/or Certification(s) Required

  • n/a

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
  • Experience with Accounts Payable processes and general accounting
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Requirements:

  • CPA or CMA certification (or in progress)
  • Experience with production reporting tools or manufacturing software
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or standard costing methodologies
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production setting
