POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting & Finance Manager is responsible for the financial leadership and oversight of one or more SBS client organizations. This includes serving as a key member of each client’s leadership team and a trusted financial advisor to its professional and board leadership. The role includes hands-on financial operations, strategic planning support, budgeting, reporting, and supervision of accounting staff.
This position reports to the Managing Director of Shared Business Services and serves on the SBS leadership team. Functionally, the manager also reports to the executive leadership of each assigned client and regularly engages with their board committees, including Finance and Investment.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial analysis.
  • Nonprofit experience and familiarity with fund accounting and grant compliance strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with executive teams and boards of directors; comfortable presenting financials to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience; ability to coach and manage others.
  • Proficiency and experience with financial systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple clients and projects in a shared services environment.
