We’re seeking a dedicated Accounting & Finance Officer to join our team and play a vital role in expanding our organization and securing its financial health and future. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full-cycle accounting across the main and associated businesses, ensuring all existing financial activities are managed in a timely, accurate manner and driving expansion processes and improvement initiatives.
As the Accounting & Finance Officer, you will oversee all accounting processes, manage finances, and provide financial and administrative support to various stakeholders in a fast-paced and expanding non-profit environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3-5 years experience in an Accounting, Finance, or similar role
  • Bookkeeping and payroll experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software and financial reporting systems (Quickbooks, etc.)
Responsibilities
  • Daily bookkeeping duties include taking/receiving/recording payments from purchasers, partners and institutions
  • Maintaining an efficient, organized accounting system for all documentation
  • Managing payroll; including calculating and distributing wages and salaries using Quickbooks in a timely and accurate manner
  • Financial reporting; including preparing and reviewing financial statements, reports, and presentations for stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance; following accounting standards, maintaining tax filings or disclosures to government entities, tax laws and regulations, preparing and filing tax returns, and identifying potential risks as well as grants and funding opportunities
  • Creating and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring the proper recording of transactions, and reconciling accounts
  • Analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and making recommendations for improvements
