Employment Type: Full-Time- Contract Eighteen (18) months

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting & Financial Analyst to join our Finance team at our abrasive manufacturing plant in Ontario. This role will play a key part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supporting month-end and year-end processes, managing reconciliations. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, organized, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with strong command of pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial formulas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations and identify discrepancies by examining possible sources of error.
  • Analyze and reconcile discrepancies by recreating likely accounting actions and preparing correction documents as needed.
  • Record and process journal entries in support of the month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Support month-end closing activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare stock reconciliations for WMX and WUS.
  • Develop and maintain Excel workbooks to refine and improve financial processes.
  • Involvement in weekly cash forecasting.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses to support business decision-making and operational planning.
  • Serve as backup for Accounts Receivable (A/R), including processing daily invoices/credits, applying cash receipts, and assisting with collections of past-due accounts.
  • Provide backup support for Accounts Payable (A/P), including invoice entry and processing wire payments.
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations for AP/AR with Winoa Canada, US, and Mexico.
  • File and submit monthly Statistics Canada reports.
  • Monitor General Ledger (GL) to ensure purchase orders (POs) are properly coded to the correct inventory items.
  • Revamp and maintain a fixed asset subledger and implement a capital spending tracking procedure.
  • Support the annual external audit by preparing required schedules and documentation.
    · Work with various currencies and correct and adjust for FX impacts.
    · Assist with the annual year-end audit process and various audits throughout the year.
