Description

LK Jordan is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting & HR Specialist to manage our day-to-day financial operations while supporting human resources and payroll functions. This is role is ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in accounting and a working knowledge of HR processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience; experience in engineering or construction industry preferred
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
  • Familiarity with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of HR best practices and employment law
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with team members and management

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of project-based accounting or job costing
  • Previous experience supporting a technical or field-based workforce
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP or PHR) is a plus

Responsibilities

Accounting

  • Maintain general ledger and prepare monthly financial statements
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
  • Assist in budgeting and job costing for engineering projects
  • Prepare and file state and federal tax reports and documentation
  • Support external audits and financial reviews

Human Resources & Payroll

  • Process bi-weekly payroll and ensure compliance with labor laws
  • Maintain accurate employee records and benefits documentation
  • Assist in onboarding and offboarding of employees
  • Support employee relations and workplace policy adherence
  • Assist with workers’ compensation, insurance renewals, and compliance reporting
