JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounting & HR Assistant provides part-time support to Human Resources and part-time support to accounting. This person will handle the daily administrative and HR duties of an organization, and as an Accounting Assistant you will support the finance team with day-to-day accounting tasks and assist in maintaining accurate financial records for the organization.

PERSONNEL

  • Ensure current job descriptions are on file for all employees; work with the management team to help draft new job descriptions for new positions.
  • Maintaining proper records of employee attendance and leave to assist with payroll duties.
  • Serving as a point of contact, providing smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their queries.
  • Assists in organizational training and development efforts, including but not limited to coordinating location and all items necessary for sessions.
  • Monitors and restocks office supplies and materials for the HR department.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior experience in a Human Resources Assistant role, preferably in a non-profit or similar environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of administrative experience, preferably in an HR environment, or a combination of education and experience. Associates degree in related field or equivalent combination of experience.
  • Working knowledge of all various employment laws are desirable
  • Previous experience should include a minimum of one year working in a customer service-oriented environment.
  • Work requires excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and E-mail.
  • High level of confidentiality required.

  • Familiarity with database systems and common HR applications
