Title: Accounting/Finance Intern Reports to: SEC Reporting Manager Department: Finance Summary - Job Responsibilities – Activities: AMSC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting/Finance Intern to join our high-performing Finance team. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience with real-world projects that directly impact our financial operations. You’ll support transactional processes in Oracle, assist with account reconciliations, contribute to quarterly close activities, and play a key role in audit preparation and SOX compliance. This is a valuable opportunity to build foundational skills, work alongside experienced professionals, and jumpstart your career in accounting or finance. Functions: • Enter and manage financial transactions in Oracle, including prepaid expenses, cash activity, and fixed asset records • Prepare accurate and timely account reconciliations for cash, prepaids, other assets, and fixed assets • Collaborate on quarter-end close activities and help ensure timely submission of financial reports • Assist with the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits, including gathering audit selections and documentation • Support the team in compiling and reviewing SOX compliance documentation and internal controls • Contribute to the development and improvement of reporting tools, templates, and process documentation • Participate in ad hoc financial analysis, special projects, and process improvement initiatives • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, providing support and information in a professional and customer-focused manner Other accounting tasks as needed Education - Experience: • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Accounting or a related field • Availability to work 15–20 hours per week over the course of 1 year Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs: • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook • A collaborative team player who handles confidential information with discretion • Eagerness to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibilities • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset • U.S. Citizenship required AMSC is an EEO M/F/D/V
