Job Overview Position: Accounting Intern Department: Finance Location: Somerset, New Jersey — onsite Ardena is looking for a motivated Accounting Intern to join our Finance team for a paid three-month internship during July, August, and September. The assignment is expected to be full-time during July and August, with the possibility of transitioning to part-time during September based on business needs and intern availability. Role Description The Accounting Intern will support day-to-day finance and accounting activities, with a focus on accounts payable organization, invoice processing, supplier account reconciliation, payment administration, and financial recordkeeping. This internship provides hands-on experience in accounting and finance within a collaborative, business environment. Key Responsibilities Communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding invoices, account status, and payment-related questions. Reconcile supplier accounts, research discrepancies, and help resolve outstanding items. Assist with payment preparation, tracking, and related administrative support. Process, code, and post supplier invoices in the accounting system in accordance with Finance procedures. Support the team with general finance and administrative tasks. Help organize financial records, documentation, and accounts payable files to support accuracy and audit readiness. This is an onsite summer work assignment of up to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Qualifications Education and Experience: Currently pursuing, or recently completed, a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred. Completion of at least 12 semester hours of college coursework preferred. Familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems is preferred but not essential. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams. What We Are Looking For Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a proactive approach. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Physical Requirements Sedentary Work: Must be able to remain stationary in a seated position for an extended period throughout the workday while operating a computer, keyboard, and standard office equipment. Mobility: Frequently moves about the office to access files, utilize office machinery (e.g., printers, scanners), and attend internal meetings. Lifting and Transporting: Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise transports financial documents, binders, or equipment weighing up to 15 pounds. Communication: Frequently communicates with team members, suppliers, and internal stakeholders in person, by email, and through virtual meeting platforms, requiring the ability to exchange accurate information clearly. Work Environment Professional office environment with frequent collaboration with Finance and other business functions. Compensation and Benefits The anticipated pay range is $20.00 to $24.00 per hour. The final rate will be based on factors such as education, relevant coursework, skills, and business needs.
