Description Position: Accounting Intern – Summer 2026 Reports to: Accounting Manager – CFO Location: In person – 40 Hours a week – Monticello, MN Job Description The Accounting Intern will support the daily operations of the Accounting Department, gaining hands-on experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, and general administrative accounting tasks. This role is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance who is eager to develop practical skills in a fast-paced, professional environment. Requirements General Responsibilities Process and review accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding. Assist with PO invoicing and ensure proper documentation and approvals are obtained. Support accounts receivable functions, including posting customer payments and assisting with collections. Monitor customer accounts and help maintain accurate A/R records and aging schedules. Respond to customer accounting inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Participate in month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and supporting account reconciliations. Assist with data entry and maintenance of financial records within the ERP system. Assist with the management of sales tax exemption certificates. Assist with daily administrative accounting tasks assigned. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Qualifications Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial records. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information. Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and take initiative. Education & Experience Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and must have completed at least sophomore year coursework. Prior office or accounting experience, and familiar with an ERP system, is a plus but not required. What You Will Learn Real-world accounting processes. Accounts payable and receivable workflows. Physical Demands This position is working mainly in an office environment and may require long periods of sitting and working on a computer. The ability to lift a minimum of 15 pounds is required.
