Description The Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, population 56,852 is located along Metra’s Union Pacific Northwest Line, 22 miles from downtown Chicago and five miles north of O’Hare International Airport. The Finance Department is seeking to hire an Accounting Intern for a temporary employment assignment. General Responsibilities: Assist with accounts payable processing. Assist with accounting functions including but not limited, bank reconciliation, journal entries, helping to create the annual budget book, capital asset planning and audit work. Perform customer service tasks in front office as needed. Ensure strict confidentiality of office records and customer information. See full job description for details. Requirements Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, must be enrolled in college, university, or other accredited continuing education with an emphasis in business or accounting. We would be willing to accept an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position is flexible based on your schedule and hours may vary depending on departmental needs but generally between 10-30 hours per week. Finance department is open Monday through Friday from 8:30a.m to 5 p.m. The number of hours worked will not exceed 999 in a year.
