OUR CORE PILLARS: Safety | Operational Excellence | Shareholder Value Propulsion Controls Engineering has a job openings for an  Accounting Lead, with a minimum 3 years of accounting experience. We are looking for a candidate that will demonstrate a solid understanding of basic accounting principles. Such as AP/ AR, reconciliations and financial record keeping. Candidate should have strong attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills. Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, a self-starter and open to working independently and in a team setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential. Candidate must have good problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and support & contribute to team goals. Previous Quickbook, CostPoint and ADP experience preferred but not required.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts. * Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly and year-end close processes. * Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations. * Meeting processing and reporting deadlines. * Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits. * Review financial statements for accuracy and regulatory compliance. * May perform accounts payable and/or accounts receivable functions. * Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with corporate policies, goals and objectives, accept constructive feedback, establish goals and objectives, and exhibit initiative and commitment. * Other duties as assigned, requested or needed. Education and Experience: * Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience. * 3-5 years Accounting experience (manufacturing or government contract experience preferred). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles – GAAP), and the analysis and reporting of financial data, preferably in job costing environment. * ERP experience and Costpoint knowledge a plus. * Ability to perform complex problem solving, analyze information and develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. * Strong written and verbal communication skills and interact with various job classifications. * Ability to work at a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. * Ability and tolerance to meet due dates and deadlines.
