Description:

SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Leader to join our Accounting/Finance team. This key role will directly assist the CFO with a variety of accounting and financial tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of all areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working closely with senior leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (experience with [software name] preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Prior experience assisting with audits, tax filings, and financial reporting
  • Prior experience in a mortgage lending environment preferred.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist the CFO in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Help manage cash flow forecasting and tracking of financial performance.
  • Prepare tax filings and coordinate with external auditors during the audit process.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Finance and Accounting team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide mentoring to the accounting team to develop
  • Assist with financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning as directed by the CFO.
  • Participates in special projects or improvements to streamline accounting processes.
  • Becomes/is an advocate of our culture and adheres to our core values.
  • Supporting day-to-day tasks and other functions as assigned.
  • Ability to meet regular and reliable attendance.
