JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a detail-oriented Controller to oversee the accurate and timely reporting of the company’s financial results. The Controller will assist with both internal and external financial reporting, prepare comprehensive reports that summarize and forecast business activities, and establish cost benchmarks and cost accounting systems. This position involves leading the month-end close process, annual budget development, and maintaining banking reporting requirements while ensuring compliance with GAAP. The Controller will supervise financial audits, payroll, accounts payable, fixed asset depreciation, and accounts receivable processes, and analyze internal controls to safeguard assets.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • 5+ years of finance and cost accounting experience in aviation, MRO, OEM, or aerospace manufacturing.
  • Experience with a minimum $40M aviation services organization.
  • Strong experience with job costing in repair/maintenance environments.
  • Experience using ERP systems or QuickBooks.
  • Integration experience with smaller businesses into larger platforms.
  • Bachelor’s or graduate degrees in finance or accounting.
  • Advanced degree and/or accounting certification (CPA, CMA, CA).

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Smart 145, Quantum, and/or AvSight.
  • Exposure to private equity.
  • Big Four accounting experience.
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee accurate and timely reporting of financial results and assist with financial reporting.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports that summarize and forecast business activities.
  • Set up cost benchmarks and design and implement a cost accounting system.
  • Oversee development and publishing of KPIs; advise leadership on corrective actions.
  • Lead the completion of the month-end close process accurately and timely.
  • Lead annual budget and monthly forecast development and accountability.
  • Maintain banking reporting requirements.
  • Review accounting standards and internal policies to ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Supervise and coordinate annual external financial audits.
  • Supervise payroll, accounts payable, fixed asset depreciation, and accounts receivable processes.
  • Analyze internal controls to ensure asset safeguarding and accurate reporting.
  • Supervise semi-annual physical inventories and reconcile results.
  • Participate in special projects and compile special reports.
  • Perform related duties as required.
