OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in corporate accounting and financial management, with a focus on compliance and regulatory reporting. This role requires expertise in various accounting software and financial concepts, as well as the ability to mentor junior staff and oversee the accounting department’s day-to-day operations.

SKILLS

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, debits & credits, and financial report writing.
  • Experience with financial management tasks such as cash flow analysis, payroll processing, budgeting, forecasting, and auditing.
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements for both public and private entities.
  • Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring team members and fostering professional development within the department. Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of corporate accounting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and relevant regulations.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Conduct account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls in accordance with SOX requirements.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.
  • Mentor and train accounting staff in technical accounting practices and software usage.
  • Ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance with applicable tax laws.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations, securities law, governmental accounting, and non-profit accounting practices.
