JOB SUMMARY: Lead and supervise staff responsible for financial reporting and budgeting and forecasting. Oversee preparation and the submission of accurate and timely reports, which meet the requirements of various internal and external organizations. Demonstrates strong leadership skills and contributes to strategic and operational initiatives of the business.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

  1. Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and methods, internal control procedures, and financial analysis, including lease and loan accounting.
  2. Strong decision-making and analytical skills and ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously, with minimal involvement from management.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills to develop staff and persuade others to take action.
  4. Demonstrated ability to maintain an environment conducive to collaboration across business units and job functions.
    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A 4-year college or university degree in accounting or equivalent discipline and a minimum of 9 years progressive exempt experience in, and a thorough knowledge of the financial accounting activities of a multinational company are recommended. Experience in business planning, budgeting, project management and supervision and leadership is recommended. Chile CPA certification (CPA/CMA preferred) and an advanced business degree preferred.

Responsibilities:

  1. Directs staff responsible for the accounting, budget and forecasting.
  2. Producing accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with US GAAP and in compliance with section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  3. Preparing or leading preparation of reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, assets and liabilities
  4. Provides and maintains adequate books and records of all financial transactions.
  5. Coordinates and assists with the annual Business Plan and other interim forecasts as requested by corporate, under the supervision of the Sr Finance Manager.
  6. Participates in accomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department. Participates in the identification of problem areas and development of resolutions to address them.
  7. Ensuring the accounting and compliance policies and practices of the organization are followed;
  8. Overseeing and evaluating the activities of the accounting staff and providing for their professional development; analyzing and solving accounting problems.
