Requirements Position Summary The Accounting Manager will assist in managing the day-to-day aspects of the company’s accounting functions. This role combines hands-on transaction management with higher-level oversight. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced small-business environment where accuracy and initiative are key. Key Responsibilities: Financial Management Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including A/P, A/R and general ledger. Prepare monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations and management reports. Manage cash flow and bank reconciliations; monitor daily balances and forecast liquidity needs. Coordinate month-end closings and liaise with external accountants for annual audit. Prepare and submit monthly sales tax returns. Process & System Oversight Maintain and improve the accounting systems working with A/R and A/P clerks. Ensure accurate posting of vendor invoices, customer invoices, and payments. Streamline internal controls and implement efficient accounting workflows. Support integration of accounting with order entry, purchasing and warehouse systems. Leadership & Collaboration Supervise and train accounting staff (if applicable). Work closely with purchasing, operations and sales teams to ensure accurate financial data. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field. 4+ years of accounting experience and 1+ years of managerial experience preferred. Solid understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles. Proficiency with accounting software (Sage, or similar ERP systems). Strong Excel and data analysis skills. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving ability and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a small company environment and take ownership of multiple responsibilities.
