We are seeking an experienced and dynamic hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee multi-branch accounting operations, lead a skilled team, and drive process accuracy across the organization. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring interdepartmental collaboration, and delivering timely, accurate reporting to ownership and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As Accounting Manager, you will oversee all day-to-day and month-end accounting functions for Corporate and branch locations, ensuring seamless workflow between the Accounting Department, Operations, HR, and Sales. You will lead a high-performing accounting team, mentor staff, and ensure that accounting procedures align with Eco-Pro’s standards and compliance requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership & Oversight
  • Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure smooth interdepartmental workflows, providing support and guidance to Operations, HR, and Sales to maintain financial clarity.
  • Accounting Operations
  • Oversee and process AR/AP posting for all branch locations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage bank deposits, cheque runs, EFT payments, and vendor remittances.
  • Direct monthly bank and credit card reconciliations across muliple locations and corporations.
  • Oversee data imports and reconciliations from various billing systems.
  • Reporting & Compliance
  • Deliver month-end reporting packages to ownership and lenders, complete with analysis and variance commentary.
  • Lead year-end preparation and liaison with external accountants.
  • Manage inter-company transactions and reconciliations.
  • Ensure CRA remittances and payments are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Payroll Administration
  • Oversee payroll for 50+ staff across all branches, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Alberta labour laws.
  • Coordinate with HR on onboarding, terminations, and benefit administration.
  • Process Improvement & Controls
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain document control and clear audit trails across all transactions.
