ABOUT THE JOB: The European Accounting Center of Excellence (CoE) is a dynamic and collaborative organization supporting Woodward businesses across Europe and the Middle East. Comprising a team of over 50 skilled accounting professionals, the CoE delivers expertise in transactional, operational, general, and local accounting services. Operating within a distributed structure, the team is primarily based in Poland, with additional hubs located in Germany, Bulgaria, and the United Kingdom. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Lead and manage a General Accounting team of six or more finance professionals across multiple locations, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and coaching Oversee the accurate and timely execution of journal entries, including ASC 606 revenue recognition, compliance with SOX controls, and other financial reporting requirements to ensure precision and regulatory adherence Supervise the completion of account reconciliations to maintain financial integrity and compliance with internal control guidelines Ensure proper documentation of financial processes while driving the development and implementation of standardized operational procedures to optimize workflows Monitor key operational metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in general accounting operations Provide leadership and support for the implementation of SAP HANA and other system solutions, such as Tagetik, to modernize and improve financial systems and processes Collaborate as a financial advisor to non-finance leaders, delivering actionable insights and effectively influencing decision-making across diverse business units WHAT YOU WILL NEED: Experience: 10 years in Accounting, including minimum 5 years in General Ledger/General Accounting and minimum 2 years in managerial role Technical Knowledge: Strong in US GAAP, SOX compliance, SAP; Tagetik or similar tools is a plus Languages: Fluent in English, Polish and/or German - preferred Education: Master in Accounting/Finance; ACCA, or equivalent certification - preferred Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and ability to manage cross-border teams Travel: Willingness to travel between Poland (majority of the team presence) and Germany (largest business and team members presence) WHAT YOU WILL GAIN: Advancement opportunities in international team A total rewards package, that includes: private health insurance, life & accidental insurance Multisport package Meal Vouchers Company performance bonus program Work-life balance, semi-flexible working time PPK: Woodward offers payment to your PPK account up to 4% of your compensation depending on seniority Hybrid work model (2/3 days from the office) Relocation & Educational support What does it mean to be part of Woodward?
