About the Role: HII is seeking an Accounting Manager who oversee and manage the full spectrum of accounting operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of financial data through meticulous bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and balance sheet preparation. The successful candidate will lead the accounting team in executing job costing and cost accounting processes, providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. They will ensure adherence to established accounting principles and internal controls while continuously improving accounting systems and workflows. Ultimately, the Accounting Manager will drive the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of the company’s financial information, contributing to overall business success. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities. * Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and full cycle accounting processes. * Proficiency in accounting software and systems relevant to the industry. * Demonstrated experience with bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and balance sheet preparation. Preferred Qualifications: * Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation. * Experience with job costing and cost accounting in a manufacturing or construction environment. * Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools. * Strong analytical skills with experience in financial forecasting and budgeting. * Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate across departments. Responsibilities: * Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations. * Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and balance sheets to ensure accuracy and compliance. * Lead job costing and cost accounting activities to monitor project expenses and profitability. * Implement and maintain accounting systems and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity. * Coordinate and support external audits and regulatory reporting requirements. * Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff to enhance team performance and professional growth. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support budgeting and forecasting processes. Skills: The required skills such as bank reconciliation, general ledger management, and full cycle accounting are essential for maintaining accurate and compliant financial records on a daily basis. Proficiency in accounting systems enables the Accounting Manager to streamline processes and improve data accuracy. Job costing and cost accounting skills are applied to analyze project expenses and ensure profitability, which supports strategic business decisions. Knowledge of accounting principles ensures that all financial activities adhere to regulatory standards and internal policies.
