Accounting Manager II Cost Accountant in  GAC Savannah Unique Skills: Team player with a continuous improvement mindset. Advanced excel skills and power query knowledge is a plus. Previous intercompany reconciliation experience is a plus.     Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Business, or Finance. CPA/CMA/MBA is desirable or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. One year Public Accounting experience may be used to satisfy two years of the experience requirement. 7 years Accounting/Finance preferably in a mfg environment. Position Purpose:Applies principles of cost accounting with a primary focus on the supervision of staff involved in cost accounting and inventory accounting processes and procedures. Provides principle supervisory oversight to the accounting staff. Provides principle supervisory oversight to the accounting staff.Job Description Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions: Analyzes and maintains a complete and accurate general ledger; prepares managerial and financial reports. Reviews and analyzes financial data in a timely manner to support established schedules and deadlines. Compile, analyze, and review financial data. Prepare analysis and recommend solutions for problems and improvements to existing systems and processes . Prepares schedules, reports, presentations, etc. for management . Works independently following established procedures to perform tasks in all aspects of difficult projects that are broad in nature and require originality and/or ingenuity. Coordinates the day-to-day operations by leading and directing accounting staff to assure a smooth workflow. Assigns, monitors, and reviews the progress and accuracy of assigned work. Familiarizes employees with established policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Specific area of responsibility . Applies principles of cost accounting with a primary focus on the supervision of staff involved in cost accounting and inventory accounting processes and procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements: Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications, principally Excel is required. Strong technology expertise in other applications a plus.
