POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in supporting the financial and operational success of the McStarlite business unit. This position is responsible for driving day-to-day finance and accounting operations, leading month-end close activities, and partnering closely with the McStarlite Business Unit Controller and plant leadership team. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting acumen, deep cost accounting expertise, and a proactive approach to driving process improvement and financial discipline.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Deep expertise in cost accounting and practice application within a manufacturing business
  • Demonstrated experience leading month end close processes and developing financial analysis for operational leaders
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., EPICOR, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

· Lead daily accounting operations to ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions in compliance with US GAAP and Standex policies
· Manage and execute month end, quarter end, and year end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
· Partner with the McStarlite Business Unit Controller to support the plant leadership team with insightful financial analysis and reporting to drive operational and strategic decision-making.
· Lead all capital expenditure management activities, including project tracking, ROI analysis, and compliance with capital authorization processes.
· Oversee deployment and optimization of working capital, including inventory, payables, and receivables to support business performance objectives.
· Perform P&L analysis and drive in depth investigation of variances against forecast, budget, and prior periods; develop and recommend corrective actions.
· Implement and maintain robust cost accounting practices; ensure accurate standard cost development, and analysis of manufacturing variances.
· Support development of quarterly forecast, annual budgets, and long-term strategic plans by working closely with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams.
· Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function to enhance processes, systems, and reporting quality.
· Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.
