Description

Metro is looking for an Accounting Manager to supervise, track and evaluate day to day activities. This position will support multiple functions of the accounting department including overseeing the revenue accounting process from multiple internal and external revenue streams, overseeing and managing full-cycle accounting process, analyze financial data, assist in the preparation of financial statements and reconciliations and other general accounting functions. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information. This position will work closely with our Senior Accounting Manager (Capital Planning, Investments, General Accounting) to ensure accurate and complete information. Lastly, this position will continue to assist the accounting department developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Primary fiscal contact understanding revenue recognition and various revenue streams.
  • Work with staff to implement aging report.
  • Oversee the invoicing and collections of services, passes provided by Metro.
  • Provide necessary month end information and entries for close.
  • Primary contact person for internal/external customers related to billing.
  • Oversee Sales Office to ensure customers orders are being filled on timely basis
  • Work with Sales Office Manager to develop and implement processes that will improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Assist in the oversight of the Cincinnati Public Schools pass program
  • Oversee the Staff Accountant position.
  • Manage the Finance retention schedule and purging of necessary documents.
  • Oversee continued development of accounting employees to keep abreast of new technologies and employee skills
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for above essential functions listed above.
  • Assist in the development of strategies to meet or exceed organizational and department performance goals and objectives, monitor results, and recognize employee, department, and organization accomplishments
  • Model, facilitate and encourage exemplary internal and external customer service, open communication, collaboration, participation and professional development among staff

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or university). Accounting or Finance

EXPERIENCE

  • Four to Six years related experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of GL software, spreadsheets, internet, email applications, and word processing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office atmosphere.
