Job Details Job Location: Charlotte - Charlotte, NC 28208 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: 4 Year Degree Job Category: Accounting SUMMARY Responsible for managing and directing accounting operations including Estimate at Completion (EAC) revenue recognition, cost variance analysis, inventory and labor. Assist with monthly financial reporting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Manages Credit and Collections functions. - Manages Accounts Payable function with 2 direct reports - Manages Senior Accountant. - Coordinates monthly closing activities. - Prepares financial reports for various divisions. - Supports budget process - Prepares miscellaneous journal entries. - Prepares and submits monthly and quarterly reports to Parent Company in Japan (MML). - Performs account reconciliations. A.) from four-year College or university in Accounting or Finance; three to five years’ experience in the financial reporting/ general accounting area and three plus years of managerial experience is required. Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus. MBA or CPA preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with employees and managers for payroll related matters. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as sales tax, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to work with various computer software applicable to accounting (Great Plains, Microsoft Office software, S/4 HANA SAP).
