POSITION SUMMARY: The Accounting Manager will be responsible for performing all audit procedures required by North Fork Mono Casino's System of Internal Controls that are not performed as part of a daily audit and oversees the daily revenue audit process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of gaming and non-gaming revenue. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations and internal controls and preparing reports for management. The Accounting Manager performs numerous audit and financial reporting functions, including preparation of journal entries, auditing functions, exception review and tracking, and recording financial information. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. This position will report directly to the VP of Finance.   ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino's culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards. * Oversee Accounts Payable, General Ledger activities, and daily revenue audit operations. * Direct and supervise revenue auditors in the performance of their duties. * Ensure all daily, weekly, and monthly audits are completed accurately and timely. * Ensure compliance with the system of internal controls, gaming regulations, and minimum internal control standards (MICS) to ensure departmental procedures are followed and any discrepancies are documented. * Periodic review of audits and audit procedures for completeness, accuracy and any discrepancies. * Perform monthly verification and reconciliation of revenue and balance sheet accounts assigned. * Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management, summarizing audit findings and providing analysis. * Work with other departments to ensure the proper recording and reconciliation of revenue. * Develops and maintain audit checklists aligned Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) and Internal Controls (ICS). * Review entries to the general ledger to assure accuracy. * Reconciles any errors and records corrections using proper documentation. * Review and follow up on audit exceptions. * Schedules and coordinates recurring functions such as month-end inventory counts/observations and testing/verifying casino games. * Assists with/as independent auditors and internal auditors, as required. * Completes necessary/assigned reports in a timely manner to meet deadlines. * Ensure compliance with all MICS, ICS, NIGC regulations, and company policies. * Responsible for correspondence with the Tribal Gaming Commission -- i.e., notification of trial audits, etc. * Responsible for property record retention, including the maintenance of box logs and location of all boxes. * Responsible for ensuring that staff payroll is completed and approved prior to the close of payroll deadline. * Perform additional duties and special projects assigned by the CFO or VP of Finance. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Knowledge of accounting principles, gaming regulations, Title 31, and MICS requirements. * Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. * Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and manage multiple priorities. * High attention to detail, integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. * Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; or equivalent combination of education and work experience. * Minimum five (5) years of casino experience to include two (2) or more years of casino accounting experience required. * Supervisor experience preferred. * Ability to obtain and maintain a Gaming License through the Tribal Gaming Commission. * Must be at least 21 years of age. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Full time on site in Madera, CA. * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. * Ability to lift 35 pounds at times. * Manual dexterity required for job related tasks. * Ability to sit, stand or walk for the duration of their shift. WORK CONDITIONS: Team Members will be in constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests. Work includes the maintenance and care of assigned work area. Work is typically performed in an office environment. However, work may be in an area, which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain secondhand smoke. Work may be performed in a confined area. Work may be scheduled at various hours, including working overtime, and during evening, weekends, and holidays. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Work is in a high volume, fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
