Description

The Accounting Manager is responsible for oversight of the day to day of the finance department. This includes the Berry Network Office and the District Network Offices. This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Accounting Related Processes:

  • Review Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss analyses for all Network Office and District Offices
  • Cash Flow management, ensuring monthly and quarterly obligations are covered
  • Manage the Annual Budgeting process
  • Manage the Production Allowance process, both annually and monthly
  • Oversee the administration of company credit cards
  • Partner with all department heads
  • Review semi-monthly payroll for the Network Office staff and the District Office(s)
  • Manage the W2 and 1099 process
  • Audit the expense reimbursement reports for accuracy, completeness and adherence to policy
  • Review semi-monthly commissions, including charging out various shared expenses
  • Oversee the local AP process
  • Monitor financial representatives’ indebtedness and process collections procedures
  • Review quarterly sales and use tax returns
  • Identify and execute process improvements
  • Manage relationships with external CPAs and Attorneys
  • Participate in trainings for FRs and Interns related to compensation
  • Be a secondary contact with Home Office accountant as it relates to month end processing, financial accuracy, general ledger entries, AP, intercompany billings, bank reconciliation review, and semi-monthly commissions.
  • Be the main point of contact for all Managing Directors (MD)
  • Understand the various contracts and how the contract relates to revenue generating for MP, MD, DD, GDD, CUD, FR/WMA
  • Any special projects that may be assigned

Leadership Related items:

  • Monthly development meetings with staff
  • Training for finance staff, FRs and district staff, as necessary
  • Participate in leadership meetings

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in accounting, including financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, auditing, annual tax filing, payroll, benefits administration and insurance
  • 1 - 2 years in a managerial role
  • Bachelor’s Degree or better in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred
  • QuickBooks experience desired or willingness to learn
  • Financial service industry desired, but not required
  • CPA, CMA desired but not required
  • The ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • Highly organized with strong self-motivation and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact with executive level clients
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel
