Mercy Street is seeking a highly organized and detail oriented individual to manage day-to-day financial tasks including: accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and data entry, while also managing non-profit specific duties such as grant tracking, donor restriction monitoring, and preparing for external audits and tax filings in conjunction with our vendor. Key skills include strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and regulations.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Some college education or specialized training in accounting is preferred, along with prior bookkeeping or full service accounting experience.
  • Technical skills – proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft office suite, Google workplace
  • Soft skills – strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent communication
  • Understanding of non-profit environment – familiarity with non-profit principles, grant management, and compliance is critical for success.
  • Understanding of state-specific regulations, forms and deadlines
  • Expertise in tracking donor restrictions and grant regulations in accounting systems
