People Architects is excited to hire for an Accounting Manager role for a highly respected, design-driven company. In this role, you will take ownership of the accounting function, strengthen month-end and year-end processes, and provide leadership to a growing finance team.
As the Accounting Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day accounting operations that keep the business running smoothly. From AR/AP and payroll to reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You’ll also have the opportunity to drive process improvements, support financial analysis, and mentor team members — making a meaningful impact on both the finance team and the company’s growth.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting
  • CPA License preferred
  • Previous management experience or indirect leadership experience (i.e. senior, team lead) preferred
  • Comprehensive understanding of general accounting concepts, as well as practical knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing,
  • Strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail with the ability to review, reconcile, and question financial data accurately
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with professionalism in internal and external correspondence
  • Ability to assess current processes and propose improvements
  • Strong understanding of systems and how they work together
  • Comfortable working with large data sets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, reconciliations) and the broader Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.):

  • Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), including processing credit card payments, receiving and applying customer payments, monitoring aging reports, and advising on past due accounts.
  • Review and reconcile Accounts Payable (AP), including verifying purchase orders, issuing vendor invoices, and ensuring timely payments. Resolve discrepancies with vendors and maintain accurate records in the e-PIC system.
  • Oversee reconciliation of bank and credit card statements, as well as balance sheet reconciliations. Provide guidance and support to bookkeeper in completing these tasks.
  • Maintain accounting setup of products and other accounting configurations in the ERP system.
  • Review employee timesheets for accuracy and process payroll-related transactions.
  • Assist with monthly and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and supporting financial schedules.
  • Prepare or assist with financial analyses, reports, and dashboards as required.
  • Assist with annual accounting processes, including financial statement review, ESOP valuation, and tax returns.
  • Lead and mentor team members to drive their development.
  • Participate in finance-related projects, including cost-saving initiatives and process improvement efforts.
