Our client, a well-established and innovative architectural firm, is seeking an Accounting Manager/Controller to lead their finance function. This is a hands-on role ideal for a detail-oriented and strategic professional who thrives in a collaborative, creative environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

CPA designation required (or in final stages of completion)
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a management capacity
Experience in professional services, architectural/engineering/design firms, or project-based environments strongly preferred
Strong technical knowledge of ASPE/IFRS and financial reporting
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems; experience with project accounting software an asset
Strong Excel and financial analysis skills

Oversee all aspects of day-to-day accounting, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger
Manage month-end and year-end close, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements
Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports, providing insights to support business decisions
Partner with leadership on project financials, client billing, and contract compliance
Implement and maintain strong internal controls and accounting best practices
Liaise with external auditors, banks, and other stakeholders
Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
Support system enhancements and process improvements to drive efficiency
