Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of our organization. Based in Waterloo, Ontario, this role involves managing all aspects of accounting for multiple companies, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and preparing detailed financial reports. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in full-cycle accounting and demonstrate exceptional organizational and technical skills.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the complete accounting cycle for four main companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards.
  • Calculate and process all business-related taxes, including timely payments and filings.
  • Manage payroll, including source remittances, group insurance, and year-end T4 and T4 Summary preparation.
  • Record and reconcile accounts receivable payments from multiple sources and follow up with clients on overdue invoices.
  • Handle accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing.
  • Monitor and reconcile five bank accounts, including transfers and wire transactions as needed.
  • Prepare year-end financial documentation using Caseware for external review, including T5 slips and T2 returns.
  • Provide reception and mailroom coverage as a backup during staff absences, including package tracking and supply management.
  • Generate monthly financial statements and reports for all companies, submitting them to the VP for review.
  • Maintain and stock office supplies, and handle administrative tasks such as copier meter readings and postage meter management.
  • A post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software systems, with experience in Sage being highly preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and data management.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes and tax accounting.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills to meet strict deadlines.
  • Familiarity with Caseware software is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy.
