Description
The Accounting Manager will lead all day‑to‑day general‑ledger activities, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and reconciliations, and drive continuous improvement across our accounting processes and systems. This hands‑on role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast‑growing, team‑oriented environment. Responsibilities: Own full‑cycle GL operations, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals. Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accuracy and US‑GAAP compliance. Maintain the chart of accounts and accounting policies; recommend updates and added controls as the company scales. Prepare monthly variance analyses. Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and ad‑hoc analyses that inform strategic decisions. Identify workflow bottlenecks or control gaps and implement scalable solutions. ·Serve as primary administrator for QuickBooks Enterprise and integrated expense/AP platforms (e.g., Concur, CompleteAP, Bill.com). Manage all expense reporting and company credit cards Collaborate with IT and Finance leadership on future ERP and data‑migration projects. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners; manage audit PBC requests. Mentor junior accounting staff and foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Help with various ad hoc projects that may arise Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred). 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience with significant general‑ledger responsibility; life‑sciences or technology industry exposure a plus. Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise and MS Excel (pivot tables, Power Query). Experience with online payment and expensing platforms (e.g., Concur, CompleteAP, Bill.com). Solid understanding of operational accounting, accrual accounting, and month‑end close best practices. Experience with ERP implementations is a plus. Demonstrated problem‑solving skills and ability to propose and implement process improvements.
