Compensation: In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the expected salary range for this Colorado position is between $68,000-$75,000 per year. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job related factors permitted by law. Responsibilities: Oversee the payroll and accounts payable functions and handle the corporate accounting responsibilities. Assist with all revenue cycle processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and account reconciliation, ensuring timely and accurate reflection in monthly financial statements. Supervise the Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist, as well as other business department staff, as assigned. Conduct supervision meetings with each direct report at least once per month and will document each meeting in accordance with the established supervision process. Manage all financial transactions for each state, federal, and foundation grant, including monthly invoicing for reimbursable grants; tracking grant expenditures and comparing them to the approved budgets; and provide a monthly grant financial status report. Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations. Oversee the month-end close process, including generating and posting monthly journal entries and preparing the related account reconciliations, in accordance with the monthly closing checklist. Lead the preparation of reconciliations in support of the annual financial audit. Continuously document and improve policies and procedures related to accounting internal controls and grants management compliance. Support the preparation of the annual budgeting process. Investigate and resolve business department related complaints, disputes, and grievances for the Deputy CEO. Minimum 3 years of experience in general corporate accounting (account reconciliations, accrual entries, trial balance generation, etc.), with nonprofit experience preferred. Must demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong computer and technological skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. Proficiency in Google Applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, and NetSuite. Must maintain a professional appearance in the workplace, demonstrate organization, ability to prioritize, deadline management, attention to detail and teamwork. Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license or the ability to obtain one with a clean motor vehicle record. Applicants must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening as a condition of employment, in accordance with Colorado Department of Human Services regulations for child care facilities. This screening includes state criminal background checks, fingerprinting, sex offender registry searches, and abuse and neglect clearances. If the applicant has lived in any other state within the past five years, equivalent background and abuse/neglect checks from those states will also be conducted. In addition, all direct care applicants are required to complete a health evaluation or physical prior to beginning service to confirm they are fit for duty.
