Description Location: Corporate Office in Rolling Meadows, IL - On-site role Schedule: Monday - Friday 9 AM - 5 PM Status: Full-time (Exempt) Compensation: The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the accounting department and ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective financial strategies to support organizational goals. This role manages accounting operations, supervises staff, supports budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensures strong internal controls. The position also plays a key role in audits, financial system improvements, and cross-departmental collaboration. Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations & Reporting Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable, and fixed assets. Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings. Respond to financial inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. Financial Planning & Analysis Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash management processes. Conduct variance analysis, provide financial insights, and recommend strategies to support business decisions. Support liquidity management, data modeling, and asset valuation. Internal Controls & Compliance Establish and maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures. Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Assess impact of new accounting standards and implement necessary changes. Leadership & Team Development Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant, and Accounting Clerk. Oversee resource allocation, training, performance management, and professional development. Promote teamwork, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. Process Improvement & Systems Management Drive efficiencies in accounting workflows and key performance indicators. Serve as liaison and subject matter expert for accounting systems, collaborating with IT on implementations, monitoring, testing, and training. Lead or participate in special projects, ad hoc committees, and organizational initiatives. Requirements Required Skills and Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred. Experience: 5-7 years experience in a non public accounting firm. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced Excel skills. Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and financial analysis abilities. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present financial information clearly. Leadership Abilities: Ability to manage and motivate a team, drive accountability, and foster professional growth.
