ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, and a minimum of five (5) years of directly related accounting experience; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing a team, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with day-to-day financial operations
  • Strong computer skills; basic knowledge of GAAP; use of Google product suite (Spreadsheets, documents, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; ability to be a team player with a focus on internal customer satisfaction.
  • Strong analytical skills with an attention to detail
  • Decision Making: Assist in making decisions by bringing recommendations to the manager on the task at hand; Collaborate with other departments to identify proper solutions to the issue at hand; Determine appropriate prioritization of individual monthly tasks in order to meet overall deadlines, seeking guidance when needed.
  • Resourcefulness/Creativity: The ability to handle multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines is required. The ability to improve processes and create efficiencies is a plus. Flexibility and adaptability to evolving business needs are also essential.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance to assist the department in achieving its goals, along with the company’s goals, and help execute growth plans.
  • Ensure compliance with the financial procedures of the organization.
  • Produce timely monthly financial statements & reports, including cash flow projections and various metrics to help determine trends. Produce financial reports for store management.
  • Manage KPI’s and reporting of metrics by store and for the entire company.
  • Responsible for monthly financial closing processes.
  • Supervise and manage the accounting department, including providing training and mentorship to improve the team’s performance.
  • Oversee the accounting department functions with a focus on ensuring timely and accurate work.
  • Work closely with the Staff Accountant to ensure the accuracy of daily and monthly entries.
  • Responsible for bank reconciliation as well as various balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis, including inventory. Prepare and enter journal entries based on these analyses.
  • Research unusual transactions and variances to the budget while working with other departments to resolve as needed.
  • Assist in developing annual budgets along with re-forecasting on a quarterly basis.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset schedule for the entire company.
  • Work closely with external auditors on providing documents and workpapers for annual tax return preparation. Prepare schedules for year-end audit and quarterly reviews.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data.
  • Identify and recommend ways to continuously improve the process in order to streamline the accounting function, enhance internal controls, and identify opportunities to eliminate redundancies and inefficiencies.
  • Assist management with ad hoc requests, analysis, and special projects.
  • Work closely with the store management team and proactively address their needs.
