Accounting Manager – Software Studio Location: Downtown Cairo Employment Type: Full-time Work Setup: Hybrid / On-site About the role Our client, a growing software studio, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and manage the company’s financial operations. This role is highly project-focused, with strong ownership of project-based P&L, close collaboration with project managers and technical teams, and direct involvement in client billing and collections to ensure healthy cash flow. The Accounting Manager will play a strategic role in financial decision-making, cost control, and business growth. Responsibilities Project-based financial management Own and track P&L per project (fixed price, time & material, retainers). Build and maintain detailed project cost structures including team hours, tools, vendors, and overheads. Work closely with Project Managers and Tech Leads to monitor burn rates and cost variances. Support pricing decisions and margin optimization initiatives. Client billing & collections Manage the full client invoicing cycle in line with contracts and project milestones. Track accounts receivable and actively follow up on collections. Resolve billing discrepancies in coordination with project teams and management. Prepare aging reports and cash flow projections. Financial reporting & insights Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Develop dashboards covering project profitability, revenue, costs, and cash flow. Provide clear, actionable financial insights to leadership. Financial infrastructure & systems Build and maintain scalable financial reporting infrastructure. Design project-based cost centers and revenue recognition models. Integrate accounting systems with time-tracking and project management tools. Accounting operations & compliance Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax filings. Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with local regulations. Budgeting & forecasting Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts. Support financial planning related to hiring, scaling, and expansion. Requirements 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance. Strong experience with project-based P&L management and collections. Experience in software studios, agencies, or professional services firms. Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills. Solid understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
