TalentWorld is hiring an Accounting Manager on behalf of a well-established real estate investment and development firm based in Halifax. This company manages a diverse property portfolio and offers a stable, growth-focused environment where you can make a meaningful impact.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the accounting team, driving strategic financial initiatives, ensuring compliance, and providing insights to support sustainable growth. This is a new leadership role where you will shape the finance function, strengthen controls, and guide budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor Controllers, accounting, and administrative staff
  • Oversee preparation of financial statements in accordance with ASPE
  • Ensure timely tax filings and regulatory compliance
  • Direct budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow planning
  • Liaise with external auditors and coordinate the year-end audit
  • Enhance internal controls, policies, and processes
  • Oversee project accounting for capital developments and operations
  • Present financial insights to executives for strategic decision-making

Qualifications & Experience:

  • CPA designation (required), Master’s in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration an asset
  • 3-5+ years of accounting leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of ASPE, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • High energy, proactive, and results-driven
