ACCOUNTING MANAGER DEPARTMENT: FINANCE FLSA STATUS: SALARIED EXEMPT POSITION SUMMARY The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity and operational efficiency of Bluejack National. This position oversees the day-to-day accounting functions of the club, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with established accounting practices. The Accounting Manager supports the Controller and leadership team by providing timely financial insights, managing accounting processes, and ensuring the smooth operation of accounting activities related to club operations including food and beverage, retail, membership, golf, racquet sports, and amenity services. This role requires a highly organized, analytical professional who thrives in a dynamic hospitality environment and is committed to supporting the financial success of the club while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and accuracy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: FINANCIAL OPERATIONS * Oversee and manage daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and cash management. * Maintain accurate and timely posting of financial transactions across all club departments. * Ensure proper coding, reconciliation, and documentation of financial activity. Financial Reporting * Prepare and review monthly financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules. * Assist in analyzing departmental financial performance including food and beverage, golf operations, retail, and club amenities. * Support preparation of reports for leadership and ownership. MONTH-END & YEAR-END CLOSE * Lead the month-end close process, including account reconciliations and journal entries. * Ensure financial records are complete, accurate, and compliant with company accounting standards. * Assist with year-end closing activities and external audits as required. INTERNAL CONTROLS & COMPLIANCE * Maintain strong internal accounting controls and financial procedures. * Ensure compliance with company policies and accepted accounting principles. * Monitor financial processes to identify opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation. BUDGETING & FINANCIAL PLANNING SUPPORT * Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes. * Provide financial data and support to department leaders during budget preparation. * Monitor and report on budget variances. TEAM COLLABORATION & SUPPORT * Work closely with operational departments to ensure proper financial reporting, expense tracking, and billing accuracy. * Provide guidance and support to accounting team members and administrative staff. * Serve as a trusted financial resource for department managers. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Support financial system management including accounting software and reporting tools. * Assist with special financial projects, process improvements, and operational initiatives. * Attend relevant operational meetings and collaborate with leadership teams. * Perform other duties as assigned by management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) * To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. * 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within hospitality, private clubs, or multi-department operations. * Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting. ·EXPERIENCE WITH FINANCIAL RECONCILIATIONS, GENERAL LEDGER MANAGEMENT, AND MONTH-END CLOSING. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. * Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills. * Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools. * Experience with club management or accounting systems preferred (Northstar, Jonas, Sage, NetSuite, etc.). EDUCATION * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required. * CPA or CPA track preferred but not required. * Experience in private clubs, resorts, or hospitality accounting environments strongly preferred. APPROXIMATE SCHEDULE AND HOURS Generally Monday–Friday business hours, with flexibility required during month-end close, budgeting cycles, or special projects.
