• Manage the monthly financial close process for all German business units, including ensuring all revenues and costs incurred are properly recorded and balance sheet accounts are maintained accurately.
• Management local German accounting team across two locations. Mentor and develop accounting team, provide technical training and support in relevant areas.
• Ensure compliance with Corporate Accounting Policies and procedures and make recommendations to comply with local regulations, where applicable.
• Review of journal entries, account reconciliations and roll-forwards for all German business units.
• Own reconciliation between local accounting system and corporate systems.
• Identify and maintain reconciliation of US GAAP differences with reference to German GAAP.
• Interact with the business unit finance and wider Corporate Accounting to produce a timely, efficient and accurate month-end close.
• Prepare detailed account analyses as part of the month-end close.
• Collaborate with external statutory auditors and Corporate Statutory Reporting Team to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
• Work with Corporate Tax team to support local tax filings.
• Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment.
• Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Masters degree in Accounting required,
• Professional accounting qualification preferred,
• Fluency in English and German required
