ASL Environmental Sciences Inc., located in Saanichton, B.C., is a leader in oceanographic consulting and instrumentation with over 45 years of experience serving government, industry, and academia in Canada and abroad.
We are seeking an Accounting & Office Support Professional to join our employee-owned company. This role supports our internal operations in shipping, marketing, purchasing and accounting. This includes maintaining financial records and assisting with project accounting. You’ll work closely with senior staff and division managers in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience (formal training counts toward experience)
  • Proficiency with SAGE (Simply Accounting) or QuickBooks is an asset
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to prepare and organize supporting financial documentation
  • Quick to learn existing systems, adaptable to diverse project requirements, and flexible in taking on responsibilities beyond the typical scope of the role.
Responsibilities
  • General bookkeeping, invoicing, accounts receivable, payments, and deposits
  • Support project managers with accounting and invoicing
  • Monthly bank reconciliations and WIP tracking for consulting projects
  • Maintain accurate financial documentation and filing systems
  • Prepare year-end working papers
