The German Finance and Reporting team in our Frankfurt office is looking for a motivated employee that wants to join the team. The department is responsible for local Accounting, Controlling (cost controlling and balance sheet/portfolio controlling) and Reporting of the German Branch. It is also responsible for complying with local tax obligations as well as fulfilling the local regulatory and statistical reporting requirements to the German Central Bank.
The team is also responsible for preparing and providing information to external and internal Auditors. There is daily interaction with other departments of the Branch and Head Office departments in Spain. Due to the size of the department, all employees in the team are encouraged to learn all tasks performed by the whole team. Align with the digitalization process of the Bank, show interest in finding ways and working on improving and automatizing internal processes.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Academic background in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
  • Prior experience in Reporting/Controlling is appreciated.
  • Knowledge in German accounting policies, taxes, or regulatory environment will be valuable.
  • Ideally, has prior experience in a financial institution or audit/advisory company.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially good Excel knowledge).
  • Knowledge of IFRS and HGB would be appreciated.
  • Programming skills are not necessary but appreciated (e.g., VBA, SQL).

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • The candidate must be fluent in German, have a good knowledge of English (knowledge of Spanish would be an asset).

SOFT SKILLS:

  • The candidate is well-organized, methodical, solution oriented, independent working as well as committed and a highly motivated team player.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with various counterparts, including local authorities, external and internal auditors.
  • Capable of adapting to different mindsets and personalities, ensuring smooth and effective collaboration across diverse teams.
