POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Accounting Specialist supports the operations of the Accounting Department through effective time management, use of technology, and accounting activities . This role will primarily focus on Accounts Receivables activities – entering invoices, posting cash receipts, following up on past due balances, reconciliation, positive pay, intercompany billings, and other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree in accounting from an accredited university
  • Experience working in a non-profit environment
  • Experience with Sage 100, Infor, or other ERP accounting software
  • Experience with ADP payroll software and electronic times and attendance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Qualifications which applicants must possess to be considered for the position.)

  • 3-4+ years of strong accounts receivable experience
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Excel and accounting software packages like Sage, Infor, and ADP
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum of direct supervision, and to work on multiple projects and set priorities to meet deadlines
  • Good oral and written communication skills and teamwork approach ·
  • Attention to detail, good record keeping and file maintenance skills ·
  • Ability to work within the mission, goals and objectives of Catholic Community Services

Responsibilities
  • Enter AR invoices and ensure accuracy
  • Post cash receipts and apply to AR invoices as necessary
  • Follow up with program managers for status of outstanding AR invoices and follow up on past due balances
  • Review accounts receivable register monthly and reconcile to the general ledger
  • Manage the accounts receivable email account.
  • Upload positive pay daily, review positive pay exceptions
  • Entering service fees, refunds and credit card reimbursements
  • Complete intercompany billings
  • Other duties as assigned
