Description Role: To support the financial management and operations of the credit union through maintenance of accounting records and reports. Performs accounting duties of moderate complexity in accordance with standard procedures. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Records disbursements, expenses and other payments. Verifies accuracy, completeness and consistency of accounting information received. Contacts other departments and/or outside agencies to resolve common problems. Performance Measurements: 1. Process Daily ACH function ensuring timely posting of ACH transactions to member accounts. 2. Ensure that general ledger accounts are in balance. 3. Process invoices for payment and maintain accounts payable file. 4. Assist in investments including wiring necessary money for investments and making general ledger entries. 5. Handle debit and credit card disputes/fraud cases by refunding money to members, maintaining dispute/fraud files, and keeping in contact with the card processor. 6. Ensure Share Draft files are processed and returned timely. 7. Complete wire transfer transactions for members and credit union business. 8. Process Paper Payrolls. 9. Perform other duties assigned. Requirements Knowledge and Skills: Experience: Two years to five years of similar or related experience. Education: A high school education or GED. Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Other Skills: Must be able to operate a 10-key by touch. Must know how to use PC and spreadsheet software. Must also be experienced and knowledgeable with accounting terms and processes. Must have experience with automated data processing systems including PC software and mainframe programs.
