Legacy Engineering, P.C., is a small, woman-owned civil engineering firm specializing in land development design, geotechnical services, construction materials testing and inspections along with surveying and consulting. We are headquartered in Fredericksburg, Virginia and proudly serve clients throughout the Commonwealth
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist with a focus on billing. This role is responsible for preparing and processing client invoices across multiple departments, managing billing terms and project setup, tracking accounts receivable, and collaborating with project managers to ensure timely and accurate billing. The ideal candidate has experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred (or actively pursuing a degree with relevant experience)
  • 2+ years of billing, invoicing, or accounting experience, ideally in a professional services or A/E firm environment
  • Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems and electronic invoicing platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with data
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines
  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Comfortable collaborating across teams, especially with project managers and department leads
Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and issue monthly client invoices in coordination with project managers.
  • Assist with project setup, including billing terms and structure, in Deltek Vantagepoint.
  • Maintain accurate billing records and documentation across departments.
  • Post and reconcile cash receipts related to invoiced payments.
  • Coordinate and track billing progress for assigned departments (e.g., Engineering, Planning, Survey).
  • Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections follow-up as needed.
  • Provide internal customer service related to billing and invoicing inquiries.
  • Assist with reporting related to billing and receivables.
  • Any other assigned tasks
