The primary purpose of this position is to provide general accounts payable support within the Financial Services Division (FSD) of the department. The successful candidate will assist with accounts payable processes in the North Carolina Financial System (NCFS). This position will work independently and is responsible for timely response to management assignments and division questions. Key Responsibilities: Timely and accurate processing of invoices, grant payments and employee expense reimbursements for the department. Setting account payable policy, developing procedures and providing training to department staff. Researching, analyzing and solving problems related to NCFS payments. Compliance with policies and procedures of State Controller, State Budget, and the department. Communication with internal and external parties concerning payment status and processing. Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or other curriculum that would provide a core curriculum in financial management coursework from an appropriately accredited institution; or Associate’s degree in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of accounting or auditing experience; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four (4) years of experience as an accounting technician, three of which must have been at an advanced technical level or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
