Job Summary:
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with financial software.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable
- Monitor and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
- Process invoices and post payments to customer accounts.
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and accurately posted.
- Follow up with customers on outstanding payments and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports on accounts receivable status.
Accounts Payable
- Process and verify invoices from suppliers and vendors.
- Ensure timely payment of invoices to avoid late fees or disruptions in services.
- Maintain accurate accounts payable records and reconcile monthly statements.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies or disputes with vendors.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports on accounts payable status.
Payroll
- Collect and verify employee timesheets and pay records.
- Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain and update employee records related to payroll and benefits.
- Calculate and process deductions for taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to the appropriate managers and platforms.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll processing.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with accounting software (such as QuickBooks, McLeod, etc.).
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential information.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, employees, and vendors.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
