Job Title: Accounting Specialist
Location: Bryan/College Station, Texas
Reports To: Chief Accounting Officer
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Bookkeeper to join our accounting team in a a commercial real estate environment. The Bookkeeper will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, processing day-to-day accounting transactions, and supporting the operations and finance team in managing property-level and corporate accounting. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in real estate financial operations while working with a collaborative and professional team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record daily financial transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries.
  • Maintain general ledgers for multiple entities and properties.
  • Review and code invoices, ensuring proper allocation to properties and accounts.
  • Monitor tenant rent payments and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Support preparation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and variance analyses.
  • Assist with budgets, forecasts, and expense tracking for properties.
  • Maintain accurate and organized accounting files and documentation.
  • Provide support during audits, financial reviews, and quarter and year-end close.
  • Perform other administrative, office management and accounting duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred) and/or significant experience.
  • 1–2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience; experience in commercial real estate a plus.
  • Basic understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; accounting software (QuickBooks).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
