We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. This role oversees accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, payroll, and ensures the accuracy of financial records and reports. Responsibilities include month-end/year-end processes, supervising junior staff, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma/degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience, preferably in a senior/supervisory role.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Oversee daily accounting functions, including AR, AP, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Coordinate with external accountants/auditors and manage year-end submissions.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, invoices, and payroll.
• Manage vendor and client accounts, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely collections.
• Prepare CRA, WCB, and other government remittances.
• Update rates in RIMS to align with Sage.
• Support contract renewals, quotations, and policy implementation.
• Provide coverage for junior accounting duties when needed.
