Description General Position Summary Trancy Logistics America, a leading provider of international forwarding and warehouse management services, is seeking an Accounting Specialist at its Erlanger, KY location. This position is responsible for maintaining the company’s accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and coordinating monthly financial closings. The position is also responsible for assisting with monthly financial statement preparation, audit preparation and payroll processing as directed. Essential Job Functions General Accounting · Maintains the company’s general ledger by entering accounting transactions into Sage Intacct software. · Responsible for preparing and entering bank deposits. · Responsible for reviewing and entering incoming wire transfers. · Responsible for entering all accounts payable data. · Responsible for preparing cash disbursements. Prints checks and submits to CFO or other authorized signer for signature. Prepares ACH and international wire transfers for CFO to initiate. · Compiles composite reports from individual reports of as required by management or government agencies. · Performs the activities for monthly financial report including the setting up and booking of journal entries of transactions, performing general ledger account review, reconciliation, and analysis. · Prepares and edits accounting entries for month-end close. · Communicates and coordinates accounting policies, practices and procedures with department and company managers and officials, vendors, and customers. · Examines accounting work of operations personnel for exactness, clarity and conformance to accounting and company policies and procedures. Works with operations personnel to resolve any discrepancies. · Maintains accounting paperwork so any document is easily accessible. · Gathers necessary documentation for audits of the company's financial records. · May assist with payroll process and other administrative functions as needed. Other & Miscellaneous · Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes. · Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management. · Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace. · Reports all irregular issues and problems to supervisors for solution. · Maintains good communication with supervisors, office staff members and outside contacts. · Complies with all company policies and procedures. · Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area. Requirements One to three years’ experience providing accounting and bookkeeping services. A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. Familiarity with accounting software packages (Sage Intacct or comparable) and Microsoft Office is required. General use of office equipment including phones, copier, personal computer, etc. is required. A strong candidate for this position would demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, attention to detail, customer service skills, and dependability.
